Ron..NE ILL..10/48 - 6/16/2024 09:11 ... there are few if any American made alternatives to the DJI drones, both the ag versions and consumer versions... Ron, this is the main problem here. In the USA we are too into stock market and finance these days. No one wants to get into a manufacturing business that may not have high stock returns and CEO bonuses the next quarter. Look at the role of drones in the war in Ukraine for example, not to mention our own US Army recruitment ads which seem to show drones to entice young people to enlist. We need a strong domestic drone manufacturing industry or we will be at the mercy of China. Fortunately there is a current US push to increase domestic electronic chip production. This thread makes it very clear we need a similar push to develop a strong USA domestic drone industry to supply not just military but ag, commercial and even recreational (to get the mfg volume up and costs down. Not rocket science, heck just copy an existing popular imported drone for a start. That's what others have done for years, or bought key US companies and transferred everything, especially the knowledge base, overseas jmho.
