The Bolt will cost about $0.04/mile, assuming 4 miles/kwh and $0.15/kwh.
The Tercel costs about $0.09/mile, assuming 35 miles/gallon and $3.20/gallon.
To pay off a $15k difference in vehicle value in fuel savings alone, you'd have to drive that Bolt 300,000 miles.
If you want an EV, go for it. But don't blindly assume that it makes financial sense. Those Tercels run cheap!
If you say there is $15,000 difference between the $15,000 Bolts listed and a Toyota Tercel I'll take a dozen free Toyotas. I don't think you'll find them that cheap though. I haven't found ones that had any life left that were free. |
