RR Valley, ND; MN native | I remember having to ask for a key at gas stations a few times when on road trips to college in the late 80s/early 90s. Generally, said key was attached to something too big to hide thus preventing theft. The one I remember having to use the key was stuck on the end of a pc of wood like a stake. Can't say I have run into this in a long time.
Also, I remember some old movie from the 80s used this a comedy bit as the key was on a chain with a old hubcap and like the other poster, they had to carry it outside around the side of the building. A specticle. | |
