If it wanted to calibrate the TCM something happened where it thought you'd moved/disconnected the receiver from the main harness. 

Sounds like it's a brown box? Might be worth checking the CAN terminator(s) to make sure all is well there. That would also "lose" your receiver if a terminator is going bad
