Actually, it was discovered (I think by accident) that ivermectin had general anti-viral properties.
When I was in school, they were talking about how hogs treated for worms/lice with ivermectin seemed to not get pseudorabies, at least not like untreated hogs did. It appears to be something that shows at least some benefits when used for viral infections, so it would make sense that it at least has potential to help with covid, especially since it has been shown to reduce Covid virus load, at least in lab tests. Read the link farther to learn more about how it worked in vitro (in the lab tests) against Covid
