When I had cancer I went to a urologist that my general Dr referred me to who sent me to an oncologist fresh out of med school who laid out a detailed plan.I often wonder just how that plan was decided on.For some of you that have gotten second opinions how did you go about it and how long did it take to get answers. It seemed like it took a m on the between each appointment within the same system I was told my cancer was on the verge of metastasizing ,if the second opinions would have delayed treatment a few months it might have spread,,,,but maybe there was a simpler option that was overlooked?
Is there a way to get quick second opinions, and how do you know the second doctor thinks independently, and didn't copy off the first doctor to get through school
Uncle had a doc tell him to treat cancer in his groin
didn't want to stay away from grandkids at Christmas because of the "active" bb's
told primary he wanted second opinion
second Doc said it was a very slow growing,he would die of something else, so he did nothing
6 years later the lungs got him so the first Doc had a "boat payment " |
