Subject: RE: Canopy penetration

I just heard on a podcast that Daren Mueller with Iowa State Extension has done some coverage, disease severity, and canopy penetration studies comparing ground rig, ground rig with yield 360 nozzles, drone, and aerial applications. If I heard correctly, he said all modes did about the same job (no significant statistical difference) when it came to canopy deposition aside from the ground rig with yield 360 which obviously got more product in the mid canopy. All methods were using the same formulation of product and surfactant.

This was based on just one year of data (2023) and I don't think anything is published yet, but you can listen to his interview by checking out the "A Penney for your thoughts" podcast. It's two episodes that they split up on interview into. The first episode is mainly detailing the study and the second is going over the results.

Hope this helps.
