coast of Maine
Here it would be up looking pretty for about 60 days,,then a coastal blow of 60 to 70 for 12 hours NE wins,,then a hurricane remnant coming from the SE at 70 MPH,then a few days later a 12 inch snow with an inch of warm rain on top,,then a few errant trees would fall as a result of an 1/2 inch ice storm, then the once every few years of 90 mph plus for hours,,,me thinks you should be very careful .Here ours are all built to the snow loads of Caribou,Me.It is 200 miles north but we get more coastal blows. Most truss set at 2ft centers, pitch 6/12 min.Wind bracing in all areas. They still fall down here but usually the sub standard builds.Lifting from the foundation can be cured with straps over the plate, hurricane strap all trusses to top plate.Remember steel is no more stronger than wood if not the correct design or thickness.I chuckle(not mean just I told you so) when a good one comes thru and nearly all the hoop buildings are twisted to pretzels.Seen 3 ft of snow setting on barn roofs that are 200 years old,,and they take it,,designed to take it even then.
