Subject: RE: what motorcycle poor looks like

Pittsburg, Kansas

I figured I did 49 crops farming on my own plus a few years in high school where I helped my dad farm. Couldn't wait till I got out of high school to farm full time. Got married, started a tractor/machinery dealership, spent about half my time in the dealership and half farming till my dad retired and had a chance to double my acreage (so the dealership got sold - tiny short line dealership with only 2-3 employees). Hit the ground running. No regrets. Loved what I did.

But I guess I started early and finished early because by the time we finally decided to pull the plug and quit, I had had enough. Or at least I must have. Have not regretted retiring one minute. Wife and I both developed interests outside farming while we were still farming so upon retirement we already had plenty to do to keep us interested and engaged in something besides farming.

We have both really loved being retired. No shortage of things we want to do and that we do do. Hopefully our health holds up.
