central Ia | I have a son that is a Lieutenant in a major city in the Des Moines area and yes because of unions it is hard to fire officers, they have a hard time even finding anyone that will pass the lie detector tests. There was just a special report on TV about the 2 officers shot in Des Moines over night trying to make a traffic stop, the Public Service officer said that a policeman is shot on the average of every 22 hours in the US. Are there bad officers yep just like every other profession in the country but look at the percentage of bad interactions to the number of police/ civilians interactions everyday and it is a small percentage but due to everyone with a camera now days and it make great news there is a lot of videos out there but few of the ofiicers helping people and animals out | |
