They're lucky they got to sit outside in the hot sun, one thing some bad cops like is to hotbox suspects they don't like, lock them in the back seat of the car with no AC and the windows up.
You also talk about media coverage and being seen in custody, some people try to roll up their windows so they won't be seen by so many people.
