Here is a little aside about Allis Chalmers orange.
"Allis-Chalmers tractors were originally green, but in 1929 the company began painting them Persian Orange to differentiate them from other tractors and make them more recognizable. The company used two different shades of Persian Orange, Persian Orange #1 and Persian Orange #2.
The color change was inspired by the California poppy, which the company's owner felt was similar in color to Persian Orange. This helped start a trend of manufacturers using different colors to distinguish their tractors from competitors. "
