Lots of people have told me our lights are too bright .

And the lights we have are bright.

One of my son’s instructors said they are so bright now it blinds people .

They are going to change that going forward.

at least it generates more business, they can cleanup the wrecks they created on the way back to the fire station. I bet they were trying to make disco balls out of their red pickups they spend all day waxing and buffing in the station driveways with the firehouse supplies.

I think it's to keep them busy and keep the city's vehicle clean and inspected. It sometimes drives me nuts here. We have to do truck inspections, which I agree with. Every 2 weeks, call or no call, 2 people have to go through every truck and check bulbs, batteries, gear, etc. That part is needed and mandatory I believe even for our tiny unincorporated town. Washing is what makes me crazy. We have washed trucks we used after every call if they got somewhat dirty. What I don't like is when we have to wash them in between calls, because someone on the dept thinks they are a little dusty. It's not mandatory, but it's also brought up that more people need to show up for the busy work on a voluntary dept. Paid dept should be doing things like that when it's slow.
