Good for him. Our academies have gotten less strenuous but our fail rate has increased over the last few years. Current class was shooting for 10 recruits out of 30 or so applicants, hired 9 are down to 4. 3 of the original 9 are on injury and will be allowed to complete the academy if they wish. The physical ability along with grit seems to be lacking. If you sign up to be a firefighter you should easily be able to knock out 10 pushups...
