Subject: Possible back surgery

I got the results of a mri on my lower back. Dr is recommending lamenctomy surgery on L2-L5 to take care of stenosis and arthritis. He said not to expect a 17 year spine but he thought he could provide some relief.
I am having trouble walking more than 1/4 mile without stopping and resting. Also I walk with the sore back walk. There is more to the story but it is the result of being 72 and having a dairy herd for a number of years.

Has anybody had lamenctomy surgery?
What were your results?
Would you do it again?

Thanks, Jim
