Subject: RE: Possible back surgery

Western Ohio
I fought Sciatica for the better part of 2 years . The more I walked or stood ,the worse it was. I am an auctioneer also, so have to stand for long periods with that. I was 62 at the time ,and very active, wanting to elk hunt etc.( Doc is an elk hunter too ) Had a lamenectomy on L4 ,l5 and S1 last year on our 41st anniversary ( June 12th ). Told the Doc as soon as I woke up that he had gotten it, pain gone. At my 2 week follow up, he said I was where most people would be in 2 months. Don't lift too much now, but able to outwork some of our 40 year old employees. I try to walk 2 miles most mornings, in about 30 minutes, ( long legged ,big strides ) . Headed out for an elk hunt soon , so trying to condition for that. Several guys tried to talk me out of surgery ,but I was miserable. I know not everyone has my success , but I am very happy with the results. As others have said ,go to a back specialist
