Here is a post I made in 2021 about my experience: https://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=982983&mid=885...

I bought a TR5 and TR7 in 2018. The TR5 has the knobs. The TR7 has the electronic panel. Otherwise, I believe they are identical with the stationary agitator.

I asked my wife which one she wanted to use. She picked the TR7 and we put the TR5 in storage to use later for a rental house.

I am a dairy farmer. My wife raises our calves. We have two sons that help on the farm when they are not at school. Our clothes get dirty.

The TR7 developed a major tub seal leak when 1.5 years old. Speed Queen advertises a 7 year parts and labor in home warranty. Our laundry room is small, so I decided to take it to the local dealer. They called the next day and said that it looked like the washer had been used commercially and therefore would only have a 3 year parts warranty. I asked them how they determined that it was used commercially. They said they found dirt and straw in the machine. I tried to explain that it was in our house and only used to clean our clothes. I explained that our previous washer was a Whrilpool and lasted 20 years under the same conditions. They showed us this clause in the warranty:

"NOTE: If the unit is operated in a multiple user setting or commercial application, the unit limited warranty is three (3) years parts warranty only.
Labor coverage is not included in this limited warranty."

They quoted $350 in labor to replace the seal. I fought with them for weeks, finally gave up and had them do the repairs. Then I sold it for $500.

In the meantime, I installed the TR5 so that we could have some clean clothes. This unit goes out of balance on bigger loads. Did not have that problem with the TR7 or our previous Whirlpool. So we have to babysit this thing. No use taking it to the dealer because they won't honor the advertised warranty. So we are stuck with it.

The TC5 is supposed to have the old style agitator. Maybe it is a better design, but our dealer soured us on the warranty. I think the dealer should have helped us, but instead I feel they took advantage of us. I have heard of other customers with the same complaint with this dealer. No more Speed Queens for us.
