Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

To look at it objectively, the numbers in the SW are literally exploding. It's taken a perfect storm, but it's finally happening and this deal is making a bigger deal of difference to the folks that inhabit that part of our country than my ability to travel in an EV.
The stations in Kayenta are a good case in point. The site was originally proposed in 2015 !! There were rumblings of opposition from local indigenous people, because they thought it a bit unjust that there be charging stations for travelers when many/most of the rural residents had no electricity, whatsoever! A federally placed moratorium on development that was imposed in 1966. It's taken a long time and the lifting may just be a coincidence but I think it may have something to do with the fact that a Native American is the current Sec. of the Interior. That, along with the IRA has freed up money for cost share on Superchargers that comply with the requirements of the act. Notably, the new chargers in Kayenta are ineligible for the subsidy because they don't have a screen and CC reader but most of the other sites I've mentioned are the new V4, which meet eligibility requirements. The new install in Gillette, Blanding, and many of the others will have their installs partially subsidized.
