| Absolutely. We are trying to do just that. Thinking outside of the box is how we got the germplasm we've got. We've made new crosses that wouldn't make sense to a "typical" corn breeder. We also believe in boots on the ground, eyes on corn selections. We don't rely solely on data and we don't rely on algorithms. Data is great, but, it is only as good as the people putting it in. Issues can happen in a field, planters malfunction, combines aren't always calibrated, choppers aren't always calibrated, etc. There's too many variables to rely solely on data. | |
