| tedbear,
It's not a constant alarm, although the notification stays on the screen and blocks other info until accepted. I'm guessing everyone is just tolerating the notification. Default is set to beep at a half bin. For some reason ours beeps about 35 percent bin full, and again at 50 percent. It also beeps that the bin is half full right then too. So 3 beeps in about 10-15 seconds. It's either maddening or else a guy tries to be completely ambivalent about it.
Several reasons (maybe I should call them excuses!) we leave it swung out... The cart is too tall to swing the auger in or out with the cart beside the combine. We also have the Lankota cross auger shutoff, so most the time the auger isn't full of corn while swung out. Also, in 250+ corn and half mile rows, the combine will likely be unloading twice. At 3,500 bph that's a binful every 5 minutes, plus unloading in between to top off the cart or start a new opening. I guess I'm a little weird, but cycling the auger 100 times a day seems a little excessive. Usually there's no trees within a mile or two. The only obstacle is the center pivot. That said, we definitely swing the auger back if there's any reason to. But I digress :) | |
