Edge of RRV MN | Here is how the voting process took place.
All eligible voters were in a roster and you signed your name and time when you received the ballot. This would be typical of any voting.
The ballot itself was what I found interesting, as you needed to check the box on how you would like to vote but you also had to sign and date your name on the bottom of the ballot as well.
Now I found this as different, but in a contested election all the votes can be counted and verified against the roster including matching signatures. If it was just a blank sheet of paper used to cast your vote and simply checking the box and putting it in the ballot box the losing party could make the claim the vote was rigged with fake ballots being cast or the ballot was tossed out for whatever reason. An audit would be very simple and there is a legitimate paper trail. I was also told that no employee would see how each individual voted on the merger as the attorneys did the counting of the votes. | |
