Subject: RE: Future of grain prices

n. Illinois
this is a perfect example of how inept the big banks and even Farm Credit can be in fully understanding what they are doing. I saw a Farm Credit pick up the BTO (15,000+ac) and in two years wanted to get rid of them due to lack of earnings and working capital. If they had taken a realistic look at the financials they would had never done the deal to begin with because the customers numbers said what they were trying to do would never work.

But you dangle a $30 million dollar deal in front of a lender and they quickly learn how to rationalize doing stupid **** just like if you dangle 1000 acres of ground for rent all in one location in front of a grain farmer.
