South Central MN | Some wheat grown around here by a few but mostly livestock operations or someone wanting to get tile in the ground during the summer.
The co-op I haul into won't take wheat in the elevators anymore but will haul the wheat from your field/farm to your choice of buyer up towards the Twin Cities. I suppose that might change someday if more diverse crop rotations get pushed.
Do see some oats too but I think a lot of that is ending up in animal feed currently.
Wheat, oats, rye, and some of the "ancient" grains have growing demand but probably more than most will want to dive into once marketing, cleaning, packaging, and shipping are all factored. | |
