i have always thought about this, but never implemented it. didn't understand it enough but feel like i'm more versed now.
selling puts in corn, i hoped they'd be a dime better now, but not looking like volatility is enough to get there yet. thinking of writing march ATM puts against corn in bin unpriced. how do you handle strategies to do this? say for easy math i have 100,000 bushels of corn in in farm storage. i have 25,000 of it priced off of july but not basis if that matters. so i have 75,000 marketable.
in my head we have a 4.70 or so ceiling at the moment i'm chasing on the cash market. maybe a 15% rally more rather than 10%. hard to come up with a scenario besides wet spring or drought to get me higher on that at the moment.
thanks for any thoughts
You need to sell calls not puts against corn in the bin.
