S Illinois | Can completely be. SAF is where the issue is. It’s about the most expensive source of energy currently. It’s completely policy dependent. And policy dependent upon the lower carbon policy. The exact same that people complain about when it comes to solar and wind. So one can’t argue SAF-good, solar, wind bad. Same side of the coin.
Edit: Renewable diesel falls into the same category. It’s only marginally better economically compared to SAF at lower volumes. Any volume and the veg oil market would go nuts driving input cost sky high. Unfortunately these aren’t nearly as repeatable as the 10% ethanol buildout was.
