Subject: RE: Cargill and Nutrien layoffs/closures

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
Dad and I didn't make anything. The dividends from several decades of both of us buying semi loads of fertilizer, chemicals, fuel. and selling grain all just disappeared with the stroke of a pen...just like we knew they would when we were doing business with them. About 28K of my earned dividends just vanished between three co-ops. Dad had three times more earned dividends than I did.

There has been three local co-ops combined into one that we have done business with over the years....dad was lucky enough to die just before the first merger so mom received a check for over 20k.*********** There were several considered at one time BTOs patrons that had died and big dividends checks were wrote to surviving heirs for far more than what mom received.

The sad thing is corporate co-op dissolved the historically "better" managed local co-ops and kept the "poorest" managed local co-op solvent IMO. Less patronage dividend on the verge of being paid out because of dying long time loyal patrons is my conspiracy theory as to why.
