SW WI | My wife and I were stupid young kids looking to build a hog barn, we had been farming for about 5 years. Needed a loan, met with old ag lender with our balance sheet. He looks at our patronage amount listed from doing business with local co op, which we thought was a nice amount. Takes off his glasses, makes a sigh…..and says “ I’m going to mark that down as a zero……don’t count on getting that money, until you actually get that money”
Ruffed our feathers at the moment but didn’t take long to see absolute truth in that statement. | |
