Pittsburg, Kansas | A pretty good presentation. Notice where he highlights the text on one study it also talks about a fasting mimicing diet, which is how some people describe a ketogenic diet.

I have glaucoma in the left eye so it behooves me to do what I can to prevent further degradation. I think improvement is most likely out of the question because of the slow turnover of the nerve cells in the eye and seems like I continue to age every year. :-) I do take two different prescription eyedrops morning and night to control eye pressure. Funny thing all my adult life my cornea pressures were never "high" but right on the borderline. Around 20 each eye. I went on eye drops for pressure for a few years, then my eye doctor took me off of the drops because his description of "thick cornea" (in other words a higher than normal pressure because of the thickness of the cornea, not internal high pressure). Then I developed glaucoma with some vision loss in left eye. So I was put back on eye pressure drops. So who knows?????? Put back on the drops several years ago. Now pressures around 16 both eyes.
Glaucoma is no fun. Fortunately I don't have any indication of macular degeneration, which is a miracle being a diabetic for so many years. I am hoping the glaucoma is a result of the diabetes and since my diabetes is so much better controlled now glaucoma will not degenerate more. My last field of vision test my left eye actually showed a slight improvement, but I put that more on the inaccuracy of the testing method rather than an actual improvement (press the button when seeing a tiny dot of light - fraught as far as I am concerned with potential inaccuricies based on how a person is alert or feels the day of the test). But there is always hope for improvement, however unlikely. And I take the drops "just in case" they are doing some good although I more and more suspect it was just years of elevated blood sugar spikes that were the problem.
