How much N is too much? The problem with nitrogen is that in really good years the nitrogen is more efficient, due either to better roots intercepting it or better soil mineralization or a host of other reasons. You can usually tell if you didn’t put on enough nitrogen when it’s about too late to do something about it.
Are there any biological products which actually pay for themselves?
