Alton, Ia | Couple years ago, we went fence nazi and tore out almost all our old fences. Was tired of snagging them, wiring harnesses on planters are not cheap, etc. If we did run cows we were putting up hot wires anyway since fences were shot. Took out neighbor's half if they agreed, whether they helped or not. Rolled up barb and woven, pulled posts. Takes a little extra work, but not that much. Sold good posts for 1/2 of new, rest in scrap wagon. It's amazing the weight a mile of fence is.
Figured I made about $50/hr. for my time. Not great, but not bad fun money. | |
