Some people on here like to complain about government help for farmers but like it or not it’s not a fair game compared to South America. They have lower labor rates, less restrictions on which chemicals and fertilizers are allowed, pay way less in “technology fees” and have very lax emission standards. Those are just a few things that make it hard to compete. Someday when they produce most everything and we have to bow down to them for our food supply we may realize that cheaper isn’t always better.

Probably not an answer to your original question.
