East of Broken Bow | My daughter works at a store, and people switch the price stickers all the time, trying to get a higher $$$ item for less $$$, so don't be too upset at the store if the price does not match the item. The thing you have to watch for is the description of the item, and the SKU #. If those match the item, they have to honor the price listed if it rings up more than the shelf sticker. However, if the SKU # is different, they do not have to, which makes sense in a way so people can't just move the price stickers around or move an item over to a lower priced spot on the shelf.
Now that she learned that, she has to watch out for people who are moving the price stickers on very similar items, then demanding the lower price. It has gotten to the point where people will switch the price on the name brand pork and beans with the store brand sticker, then demand the lower price on the name brand. So, my daughter gets to point out that the lower price is not the Bush's Baked Beans, but rather the Store brand (she works in a grocery store).
Her latest rant about the public was about when some lady looked at her receipt and started chewing my daughter out (keep in mind she turned 16 last month). Seems that the lady bought something that was advertised as '2 for $5' and the receipt said that she was charged $2.50 each for the 2 of those items she bought, and she claimed she was being overcharged.
Never underestimate the public. | |
