If you made 250+ bu corn and 70+ bu beans you don't need a subsidy. Now take someone who's on the fringes that had less 100 hu corn and 20 bu beans..(that would be me)..I could use a little subsidy. Don't like taking that money but its really gonna be touch and go this year without it. Its not about being a good or bad farmer. If it won't rain from July till labor day it's over here..add very hot with wind like this year and it's really over! My county was in the highest level drought for probably 3 months during growing season after a very wet spring...ie shallow rooted crops.


But got to pay that $500 dollar rent that those guys give somehow or be like McBee and not pay their bills and still gain ground.
