Bremen, KS | Back in September I was installing a yield monitor and discovered I needed to drill through stainless steel. Looked on the Web and found a Dewalt drill set that would work and turns out TSC had it listed online for $50. As it was Saturday evening I could buy it on Sunday. I could've ordered it from Amazon for $33 or so but it wouldn't arrive until late Wednesday and time was becoming an issue.
On Sunday afternoon I go to the local TSC (nee Orschelns, Country General, Wheelers) and find the set and the price tag shows $40. I go to check out and their system didn't show the item price until after my bank card had been approved. I pointed out that the price at the display was $40 instead of $50 and clerk said she'd go look. After a couple of minutes of her not returning I went back to that aisle and she was looking in a completely different area. I got her attention and she asked me to give her the price label, I very naively did so thinking she would ring the set up at the display price, instead she crumpled it and stated very curtly that the sale was over a week prior. We get back to the counter and she asked if I wanted it in a bag. I replied that no, I already got it in the end. The gentleman with several items who had insisted I go first and had been waiting the entire time at least got a good chuckle out of my comment.
Should this sort of think happen again I'll handle it rather differently.
And, yes, the bits did the job and we got started picking corn on Tuesday. | |
