Lottsburg VA | I would quit farming if I had to run another case ih planter. Now that's my opinion in my ground conditions, I had a 12 row 1250 that needed to be replaced, new shoe, new firming point as well as lost multiple bearings on closing discs with less than 50/ acres a row. I know they have better units and better blades now and they definitely needed it. I can't forget the little plastic door in the hopper that would break and dump all the cheap corn seed in a stream down the row without warning. I have a 1795 Deere and a 3660 kinzr both are hands down much better than the case ih 1250 was. Deere is pro max 40 and kinzr is precision finger and I think kinze is more accurate spacing, but Deere planter is built better. The Deere is much harder to work on just because it's 15 inch rows, the kinze 15 in rows have more room, but in soybeans you have to make sure conditions aren't wet at all because you run over 4 planted rows. I'm sure case ih is better but never again for me. Once again I'm only going on my conditions in my area and cannot say results are same anywhere else. | |
