Subject: RE: MX 200 vs 7810 vs 8100

Grundy County, IL
We have run all 3 series to extent (MX180/MX255, 8300, and 7610) and I would take the 8100 any day.

As mentioned early MX tractors had terrible electrical problems. Our MX180 would shift itself into neutral or shut down during road transport. Had the dealer out nearly once a month working on it. After 3 years of that we replaced the entire cab harness and it behaved for another year. Started having more electrical trouble right when we were selling it.
MX255 was the roughest riding tractor of this millennium I jave ever operated
In my opinion the 7xxx Deeres are over rated. The plastic in the cab creaks and they stuffed large frame parts into a small frame, so you need to be a contortion artist for some repairs
We bought our 8300 new. We've had minor issues through the years, but it is as reliable and comfortable as the day it was new. We sold our 8320 because it wasn't up to the par of the 8300.
