If your Dad was in Stuttgart in '69, I was about 2 hrs southeast of him in Augsburg. We were just a few miles north of he Alps. I was there from '68-70

I worked in a hospital, so I didn't have to go out in the field, so I'm not sure where they would've done their field practice work...road building. Maybe Graffenwoehr, but that was quite a ways east of Stuttgart.
