Everyone’s situation is so different. I bought a 3039r with cab because a neighbor had it for sale. It was a yard tractor. Tippy, lightly built, but great for projects around the house and on the lawn. I just didn’t like it because I wanted something that could also be used for small jobs around the farm also. Found a 4052R and love it. Enough loader to lift 2000+lb totes, nice in the field, works really nice in the spring to fork out big rocks, and has enough road speed to carry them directly to the rock pile. Am very careful with it on the lawn, as it is much heavier than the 3000 series. To me the 4000 size is the best size for the way I use it. Don’t know the comparable sizes in other brands. As for a backhoe I can not see many cases where it would be of much use, but to be fair I either own or have access to about any earth moving equipment needed.
