Be extremely careful buying in adult hens, or pullets from multiple "backyard" flocks. The diseases they bring in can be VERY serious. Buy chicks or pullets and start fresh with vaccinated birds. I promise, it'll make a load of salebarn dinks look easy to deal with. Been there, done that.
