Agree - it has a risk of going to zero. Could be soon, or years from now though...

The quantum computing experts have been parading their latest and greatest processors recently. Along with that, one of the quantum industry leaders said that cracking bitcoin security is within 5 years on the current generation of chips, so bitcoin folks better take notice and enhance their digital security to be quantum-proof ASAP. It possible that bitcoin security has already been breached, and we just don't know it yet...

At some point all ponzi-schemes fail when the "greater fool" cannot be found to buy it, a "worthless asset", from current holders, using "not worthless assets".

The willow quantum chip is overhyped and not even close to being able to crack bitcoin or anything else important for that matter. Quantum computers can only work in padded tests that compensate for the errors that quantum computers are prone to. Quantum computers and have been around since 1998, despite having the potential to be more powerful they are not currently practical in anyway. And if they do become both practical and powerful enough for real world use to crack bitcoin they would be able to brake all current encryption. Bank accounts, the world wide financial system ,possibly everything that uses a password, militarily communications etc. and yes even bitcoin. So at that point yes bitcoin may be in trouble but so would the entire world.

And even if it did happen there are solutions that could be used both before and after a potential quantum hack to counter it making bitcoin quantum resistant.
