They’re normally assembled with solder. Acid core is fine or you can even use other soft solder with flux for sweating pipe etc.

Best to get it level if possible since it’ll run out of the low side of the puddle. I usually start by wire brushing everything to bright metal but you can attempt to just flux it and leave some or all of the old solder on it as a tinning layer. Keep torch moving, it won’t work like brazing where you can work your way around and it’ll harden up behind you. You basically have to get the whole thing liquid and wetting all surfaces (level, clean and fluxed) and then let it cool.
