I don't think anything will fade. Not sure if you would want a dark color, the material would probably not last as long. They are quite a bit cheaper than steel but I'm sure won't last as long. Have had one for a couple years and really like it. There were A LOT of mistakes made on mine by the contractor and manufacturer. Do a lot of research before you buy. I didn't do enough. You live pretty close to a good one Loren.
