Chebanse, IL.....

We used to raise chickens...60+ yrs ago. They were cage free. Lived in a chicken house & we opened it to the outside every day.

We still had to clip their beaks.

We also used to clip the "eye teeth" of baby pigs. A good pair of "dyke pliers" is all it took. Do they do that now-a-days?
