StarFire power on time after key off was designed to hold signal accuracy while operators stepped away from machines (lunch/dinner, run a different machine for a while, etc etc)
Many operators were leaving engines idle to maintain GPS accuracy until this setting was offered

Signal accuracy used to take much longer to build up to 100% on older hardware such as Original/iTC StarFire models
GPS software and hardware has drastically improved the last 20 years

So why do these need to be left on after the key shuts off? After the receiver shuts down does it take a long time to reboot and figure out where its at?
