Pretty hard to condense a 6 hour training into 1.5 hours. They do get to see the highlights, but that is about it. The one thing to keep in mind about college is they are going to teach the basics and then it is on the employer to teach them what they need to know for the job. The degree shows the potential employer that they are trainable and have a general understanding of the industry. If your grandson wants a 4 year degree it is an excellent program. There are also several excellent 2 years schools that I work with.
