Subject: RE: yeild monitor for a baler

East Central, Nebraska
i have been really surprised we have never seen anything. i used to be in the custom haying business and have a great interest in electronics and programming had thought that it wouldn't be all that hard to do for a precision ag company. you can see the size of the bale increase as its being made and the speed at which it does so along with location could be used to make a yield map of sorts. i remember thinking a lot about this years ago. if i remember correctly i found some flaws in the idea but cannot remember them at this time. it would be a huge pain in the butt an idea might be though to set something up to mark a spot on a map when you drop a bale. that would be a rough indicator of yield. maybe could be easily automated. it would take a little time but even a beginner could probably make something of sorts.
