Subject: RE: yeild monitor for a baler

North Central Iowa
I used to do a lot of custom round baling back in the but just don't have the time to do that anymore. At one point I kept my Ag Leader display in the cab after planting and mapped my paths through the field and dropped a marker every time I dropped a bale. It was nice to see the bale count and how much driving I did thru the fields. And it was during that time, I too had several ideas of how would one go about recording yield while baling. I didn't think it would be too hard for a company like Ag Leader or Trimble to come up with something. I was thinking there was a company or person that tried to put sensors above the pickup to scan how much was coming in. I was thinking at the time that process would not work well as there would be too many variables that would need to be factored in to make it accurate. I still have the ideas on what I thought of, just lack the engineering expertise and of course the funds. Will be fun watching this thread to see what others have to say. Happy New Year all!
