East Central, Nebraska | yeah i have done some research on using arduino for weights of feeds, fertilizers and seeds. you can put a system together very reasonably and control the output of a product in a simple sketch. when you get to looking on ebay or digikey you can find weigh bars and flow meters very similar looking to the high priced ag products we buy all the time. i haven't found any flow meters with the quality of a raven meter but you can get pretty close for five cents on the dollar and throw 25 of them in the trash before you total what one raven meter costs.
i have a simple project in mind for automatically feeding show animals when we are away. lots of ideas, i just need to stick to learning the code and get some stuff made. i see that a lot of companies seem to facilitate making the hardware for the end user so they only have to do the coding. that is part i enjoy the most. finding sensors and learning the ranges and abilities of them and assigning them uses. its an exiting world out there and they keep making it easier. if a farmer has a little time they can make their daily tasks much easier for little cost. | |
