Amherst WI | What did the economics look like when that now retired farmer was renting land themselves when they started out? How much of the pie did the land owner get in the 1960's-1970's?
I'm looking at this from a different angle than most since I'm younger but not 20 anymore.
The average landowner today watched their land increase in price exponentially throughout the course of the period of ownership. Currency devaluation is real. Can I as a land buyer today expect land in my neighborhood worth $8K an acre to be worth $40K an acre in 25 years like what has happened to land in the past? Keep in mind at $8K an acre it doesn't come anywhere close to penciling and it takes an astronomical amount of subsidizing it from something that does make money to make that happen too. | |
