Hooker Twp,Ne | In the 80s (40yrs ago) I seen $1000/ acre land go to $500. And I seen some land go to $300. After the smoke started to clear it went up slowly. Lot of gun shy farmers around. And simply couldn’t buy any land after the 80 scare. Not until about 2000 did price start to ratchet up. However the last 5 years it seems like a rocket took off. Now will this rocket continue upward,move sideways, or crash. Seems the older ones are starting to kick the bucket and the non farm siblings prefer cash. I see a softening taking place in a few years unless grains find a rocket underneath them. | |
